  1.I’d be lying if I said yes/no…
  Example1:
Q:Are you nervous? I see your hands shaking.
A:I’d be lying if I said no.
  Example2:
Q:Did you feel discouraged when you failed your exam?
A:I’d be lying if I said no.
2.If anybody thinks…, they are seriously mistaken.
  Example1:
Q:Isit a good thing that everyone has their own car?
A:If anybody thinks having a private car across the entire population is a goodthing, they are seriously mistaken.
  Example2:
Q: What factors do people need to consider whenthey buy furniture for their homes?
A:Quality definitely tops the list of our concern. If anybody thinks price is theonly consideration in making the purchase, they are seriously mistaken.
  3.If(否定句),I don’t know what/who is/does.
  Example1:
Q:Is advertising bad for your life?
A:Sadly, yes. …. If this does not qualify as a threat to our personal life, I don’tknow what does.
  Example2:
Q:Do you think communicating with a foreigner is the best way to learn a country’sculture?
A:Absolutely. … If face-to-face communications and interactions with foreignersdo not qualify as the most effective approach to acquiring their nativeculture, I don’t know what does.
4.Withoutsomething, god knows what would happen.
  Example1:
Q:Do you think companies should have rules?
A:… Without corporate rules to keep employees’ behaviors in check, god knows whatwould happen.
  Example2:
  Q:Should companies reward outstanding employees?
A:Apparently. … Without such reward and punishment system, god knows what wouldhappen. Perhaps…
5.You might be wondering…, but the truth is …
  Example1:
Q:Do you think children should learn music?
A:I don’t think so. You might be wondering how music is part of our life, Iagree. But the truth is it’s something we naturally enjoy as opposed to animportant skill that takes time and effort for children to learn.
  Example2:
Q:What would you do if you bought something bad from the Internet?
A:I’d stay silent, as if nothing happened. You might be wondering filing acomplaint, but the truth is it doesn’t work that way for online shopping. …
  6.It’s like…
  Example1:
  Q:How well do you sing?
A:Well, I’d say awful. My singing is like a bobcat screaming for help while beingdragged down the highway at 120 miles per hour.
  Example2:
Q:Is it necessary to protect our tradition?
A:Absolutely. Tradition to our country is like a mother to her baby. …
