I would like to talk about my first cell phone, which was a birthday gift from my father. It was a Motorola, and I liked it very much.
It was a slide phone, with the color of dark green. As you can imagine, it was absolutely not fancycompared to what we have today, but it was definitely the coolest back then. At first, I had no idea how to use it because in those years, most people used beepers. So did I. But I quickly got the hang ofit and I began to use it on a daily basis. I found that it had brought me tons of conveniences, with user-friendly operating systemsand multiple functions, like making phone calls, texting, surfing the Internet and chatting with my friends. Press one button, and I could get what I want.
My father bought me this phone because he was busy with work back then, and he didn’t have much time being with me so he and my mom wanted to keep in touch withme anytime on the phone. So that phone was very special for me.
What’s more, it also enabLEDme to hang out withmy friends. Sometimes, I had a discussion with my classmates about homework using the phone. So it was something that I could not live without. It was really helpful. That’s all I want to say. Thank you!

Describe a time that you had some medicine
  You should say:
  When it happened

Well, the topic reminds me of the first time I took traditional Chinese medicine, which is also known as the herbalmedicine.
It happened when I was in the primary school. I remembered back then, I caught a bad cold and kept burning upfor a week. The worst part was it was no ordinary week, but the final week of the term, when we needed to take a couple of exams. I was anxious all day longbecause I didn’t know when I was going to get well, so I asked my mom to take me to a doctor of traditional Chinese medicine. Before, I always doubted whether the doctors and medicines could be effective. However, I had no better choice.
The doctor felt my pulse and prescribedsome plants for me, at least that was what I assumed. Then, my mom and I took five large brown bags back home. Several hours later, my mom brought me a bowl of brown soup with a pungentsmell, which was made from those plants. I sippeda little, but I almost threw up because I cannot stand the bitter taste. I begged my mom to put some sugar in it, but she refused, saying that sugar would reduce the effect of the medicine. So I had to gulp it down, trying extremely hard not to think about the disgustingtaste and smell.
As for my feelings, I felt desperate those days because I needed to take that soup medicine for five days in a row. Even today, I get sick when I think of that medicine. But the good news was that I got better after that five days, so that kind of medicine must be very helpful. Luckily, I didn’tneed to have that kind of medicine any more.

  聪明的人
Describe an intelligent person you know
  You should say:
  Who the person is
  How old this person is
  What he/she does
And explain why you think he or she is intelligent.
Well, I’d like to talk about my best friend Estelle, a girl who works as a computer programmer. Although this is an intelligently challengingand stressfuljob, she got recognized and valuedsoon after she got this job. Still in her twenties, she got promoted as the leader of her team. I guess that is due to her high IQ.
I recall when she was a college student, she developed a photo app on her own. Actually she got inspired by paper cutting, which is so ordinary that could be easily neglectedby us. Instead of decorating the windows on spring festival, she came up with the idea of using paper cuttingas a photo filter, changing the way pictures look. What’s more innovativeand impressivewas that when you use this filter, you can hear a typical spring festival music, thus creating a festive atmosphere. This is the main reason why I think she is so intelligent.
Another reason is that she can easily focus on her work. I remember once when we were shopping, she suddenly got the message from her colleague. She didn’t complain about it at all. What she did was just finding a place to sit and solving the problem with her computer, which she carried wherever she went. Despite all the noise in the shopping center, she immediately focused onher job as if nobody was there. I was completely shocked. I guess that’s why her colleagues would like to turn to her when emergenciesoccur. She could always give satisfactory replies without any delay. I wish I could be such a helpful and reliable person like her.
