Well, I’m gonna talk about a time I delayed a trip to Singapore due to an outbreak of a contagious disease.
I’m pretty sure you have heard of this disease, um…it’s calLED coronavirus. It broke out in Wuhan province in China just a week before Spring Festival.
Well, before the outbreak started, my family had decided to go on a vacation to Singapore for sightseeing. It was important because my parents had never been abroad before, and I thought a trip to Singapore would be a great opportunity for them to expand their horizons and recharge their batteries as well.
So, we bought the plane tickets and got everything PACked, and as we were about to embark on this fascinating journey, the news of the outbreak started to spread across the Internet, and it just completely dominated all the headlines. The government actually urged people to stay at home as opposed to going out because the virus was highly contagious.
So after learning about the whole situation and fearing that we might get infected, as a family, we made the decision to delay the trip for the sake of our own well-being. You know…at the end of the day, being healthy and alive is way more important than having fun, right?
It turned out that we made the right decision. Just a couple days later, local officials in Wuhan actually quarantined the entire city by shutting down all transportation, and a week later, it was reported that the virus had spread to more than 9 countries, including Singapore, and more than 2000 people were infected in China. I mean…If we had not delayed the trip, the number of people infected could have been greater.
  So, yeah…that’s pretty much it.
