A: I heard that you were thinking about a transfer. Is that true? B: Yes. Actually, I handed in my report yesterday. A: But why? All of a sudden you are leaving! B: It's nothing. I just want something different. A: What do you mean by “something different”? B: You know, my major is marketing, but I have been working asa secretary for two years. A: But you arc doing great! I remembered that once you told me you loved the job of being a secretary. B: I used to feel that way. A: What made you change your mind? B: As I said, I am longing for a transfer in order to gain more experience in marketing. A: So your reason for the transfer is that you want to make good use of what you have learnt? B: Actually it is not the only reason, even not the most important one. A: So what is? B: To be frank, I don't like being a secretary any more. I'm afraid I'll amount to nothing if I keep on working like this. I think I can do better in marketing. A: You mean you don't see any chance of advancement? B: Exactly. A: Marketing means more comPETitions, you know. B: But it also means more responsibilities, more progress and most importantly, more bonus. A: Yeah, maybe that would suit you better.
